Cal Aggie Camp

Background

Cal Aggie Camp was established in 1961 and provides the experience of a lifetime for foster children and underprivileged youth in the Davis and greater Sacramento communities. UC Davis students spend two weeks during the summer with campers ages 5-16 bonding through fun activities that enhance the lives of both counselors and campers alike. When these children are exposed to positive role models they are more likely to graduate high school, pursue higher education and find fulfilling employment opportunities. Cal Aggie Camp ensures that these lasting camp traditions continue to positively impact our community on and off campus.

Unique Work

As one of ASUCD’s (Associated Students, University of California Davis) philanthropic units, camp is funded and run by UC Davis students. Cal Aggie Camp provides an opportunity for students to change the lives of so many campers. The challenges, rewards and experiences during these two weeks guarantee personal growth in all students who get involved. This is a chance for students to gain work experience, build new interpersonal skills, learn team-building exercises, make new friends, and engage in a phenomenal cause. The Cal Aggie Camp family is passionate and thriving at UC Davis.

Testimonial
“Getting involved with Cal Aggie Camp was the best decision I have ever made. I was so enthused to see UC Davis students come together each year and spend a rewarding summer changing lives. Our group of counselors built lifelong friendships and spent a lot of time together at school. Camp gave me the unique opportunity to be a leader and advocate for an important philanthropy. This quickly became my new passion and career aspiration. The Cal Aggie Camp community is extremely near and dear to my heart and it will always be a huge part of who I am. I can’t wait to see all of the lives they will continue to change through their future endeavors.” Anonymous
